Brent Ready to Make a Splash at Preston Park!

Wednesday 11 January 2012 at 11:43

The second of Make a Splash mobile swimming pool of the spring term is now complete and ready to open at Preston Park Primary School in Wembley, Brent. This will provide a fantastic opportunity for children and the local community to learn to swim right through to the Easter holidays.

Although this is the first time Make a Splash has visited Preston Park, the school has previously hosted one of Total Swimming's temporary pools, which had a massive impact on local area.

The 12 metre x 6 metre steel tank swimming pool has been installed within one of the school's halls, and will also be accessed by other local schools from within the London Borough of Brent.

As well as being funded by the Mayor of London and the programme sponsors MWB Business Exchange and Variety Club, this project has been made to happen through financial support of local partners. These are Brent Council and NHS Brent.

School swimming programmes will be delivered on weekdays, and the pool is open to the wider community on weekday evenings and on Saturdays mornings. Community sessions are only £2 per person, and can be booked by calling Community Swimming on 0844 736 9047.
