Thursday 28 April 2011 at 15:47

Harrow will be the first London borough to host Make a Splash in the 2011 - 2013 cycle of the programme.

Total Swimming, working in partnership with Harrow Council, has successfully found a site to host the first project of the 2011 campaign at Pinner Wood School, Latimer Gardens in Pinner.

A mobile swimming pool will be constructed within a specially constructed temporary marquee on the school's playground and will be operation from May to July 2011. The project will deliver school and community swimming programmes, with ASA qualified swimming teachers provided by Community Swimming Limited, in conjunction with the ASA.

Chris Cooper, Make a Splash Programme Manager said, 'Total Swimming is very excited to have found its first host site for the 2011 - 2013 Make a Splash programme, and are delighted to work in partnership with Harrow Council what I'm sure will be a very successful project. Locating the pool at Pinner Wood School will provide a great opporunity for some of the borough's most disadvantaged residents to access a high quality swimming experience.'

Work on the project will commence at the end of April, with the pool open for business in May.
