Make a Splash Comes to Brindishe Green in Lewisham!

The first Make a Splash of the autumn has been confirmed, with the Mayor of London's mobile swimming pool programme coming to the London Borough of Lewisham for the first time.

 

 

Brindishe Green School in Hither Green is the host location, and the pool build will commence on 30th August, with the facility due to be up and running to commence swimming lessons on 5th September.

 

 

During weekdays, the pool will provide school swimming lessons to Brindishe Green, Brindishe Lee and other local schools. On weekday evenings and Saturday mornings the pool will be open to the community with a variety of sessions planned to get as many people in the local area swimming.

 

The project is supported by Lewisham Council, which is committed to get more of the borough's residents enjoying the benefits of swimming. It is hoped that many people who start their aquatic journey using the mobile pool at Brindishe Green will go on to access the other fanastic venues within the borough.

 

 

Particular target or the project include women and over 60's, with specific sessions in the pool for these groups timetabled within the programme. Over sessions will include child learn to swim, adult swimming lessons and parent and toddler groups.
